Does FIFA approve artificial grass in professional fields?

The quality can vary among different artificial grass systems. Therefore, FIFA developed standards considering players’ needs.

Artificial grass and infill materials like SBR granules and silica sand constitute 3G technology.  Some systems also include sock absorbing units like shock pads.

There are two major FIFA standards. “FIFA QUALITY” is for recreational, community, and amateur football fields. This standard suits 40-60 weekly playing hours. Second, “FIFA QUALITY PRO” meets professional safety and performance standards for 20 hours of play per week.

ILKESPORT can provide both FIFA QUALITY and FIFA QUALITY PRO standard football turf. Please get in touch with us for more information.
